Our world today is fighting obesity and weight loss. A lot of it comes from the foods and drinks we intake in our daily routine. How do you choose your foods? Many of us pick the foods we eat according to taste, price, ease of preparation, and nutrition play a major role. Making the right food choices can prevent many health issues like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. During the next couple of issues I will continue to offer healthy tips of food and different diseases.
Topic 1:5 Ingredients for a healthy diet
• Adequacy. Be sure that your diet has enough vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to replace the ones used each day.
• Balance. This is something we all need to work on especially in Ministry. Don’t fill up on foods that are rich in some nutrients and ignore others that are just as important. Extra iron won’t make up for too little calcium.
• Calorie Control. Take in no more calories than you use. Those you do not use are turned into fat, which can lead to obesity and other health problems.
