Take Me Back…

*singing* Take me back, take me back dear Lord
To the place where
I first received you.
Take me back, take me back dear Lord, where I first believed.

Take me back, dear Lord, to that place where I hungered for Your Word. Take me back to that place, where I thirsted for Your Word. That place where I first entered into a relationship with You and the thirst for Your Word was so unquenchable, that I read Your Word from front to back and expected the Holy Spirit to explain to me the things I read and didn’t understand and You did.

Take me back to the place, where my every waking thought was how I could be like You, when You walked this earth. Take me to that place, where I walked with You, where my thoughts were Your thoughts and I wanted so desperately to display Your love, patience and compassion to everyone who crossed my path. Take me back, dear Lord, to that place where they saw You, in me, before I opened my mouth. Take me back, to that place where I drank from Your cup and carried Your cross and was so focused on You and all You desired for me to do, say, go and receive, that I didn’t notice anything going on around me.

Take me back to that place,
dear Lord.
